I had a ktm 690 enduro r and it was definitely better offroad but onroad it's no comparison, T7 is a better all around bike imo. If you weren't doing any highway riding and just wanted something barely street legal it would be a different answer. If I was choosing a bike to ride around the world on the T7 would be on the short list.
if you're 250lbs you still need to respring the 690/701. No way you're gonna get proper sag setup while being that heavy on any bikes oem springs. Even 200lb is pushing it. Most bikes are out of box for around a 170lb rider, the crf250/300l is exceptionally soft and only rear shock preload can be adjusted. Bike needs springs even if you're like
