Iād recommend picking it up if itās on sale for $10-$20. If nothing else itās a good way to become familiar with battlefield mechanics before 2042 drops. (You could do the same with BF1 or 4) If youāre wanting what I believe the next battle field franchise will be like I suggest getting BF4 and all the expansions.

Hard to say. Mostly because its really up to you. What I can say is that the most recent patch has been well received generally and, overall, the game has improved enormously from launch. It is still missing a number of core features, mostly relaying to social play. You may thoroughly enjoy it as it is now.
The maps are still pretty weak in some areas. Specialist balance is pretty garbage and something like 60-70% of palyers play the same 5 specialist (there will be 14 total when the final one is released next week or the week after). So 60-70% play the same 5/14 haha. Gun balance is also wonky. On the fly attachments complicated things.
If you want better answers, go to the 2042 subreddit where people who actually play the game can help. To give a real answer, yeah it's a good deal at it's current price if you can get it for 15-20$ on sale. If you're familiar with both brands then I feel comfortable saying you can expect more of the same. Buy both. if you want vehicles, blowing up buildings, and larger scale team work based game-play go BFV. Modern warfare is very good this year.

Battlefield V is 17$ (15ā¬) and battlefield 1 is 11$ (10ā¬). All Battlefields starting from 4 have their playerbase stronk and won't die out any time soon. Especially since 2042 was a big flop. BF1 is a controversial one. It is beautiful in terms of graphics and gameplay. The time period is interesting.
